Double R A Construction recently visited a homeowner in Yonkers, NY, to evaluate a 2,900-square-foot home showing significant siding damage. The issues ranged from missing shingles along the back of the house to visible deterioration around the chimney. The existing white-shaded shingles had become faded and weathered over time, making an exact color match challenging.
During the free estimate consultation, our knowledgeable siding specialist reviewed the homeowner’s concerns and discussed the best solutions. Initially, the homeowner was considering only repairing the missing and damaged shingles. However, we explained that spot repairs would likely result in noticeable color variations, creating an uneven, two-tone appearance. To maintain a consistent and refreshed look, we recommended a full siding replacement.
In addition to the siding concerns, the chimney showed signs of wear. Several of the white bricks were chipping and separating, indicating that the original mortar seal was beginning to fail. Our team advised removing the weakened bricks and resealing the affected areas to restore both the structural integrity and the appearance of the chimney.
