Exterior Deck Installation in Bronx, NY
Double R A Construction recently began a comprehensive deck renovation for a residential property in the Bronx, NY. The project involved the full restoration of an aging deck structure that had experienced years of wear and exposure.
During the initial phase, our team removed all existing flooring to thoroughly assess the condition of the underlying framework. This critical step allowed us to identify structural concerns such as wood rot and insect damage—issues that, if left unaddressed, could compromise the integrity and longevity of the new deck.
Our inspection revealed a significant portion of the framing that required replacement, along with a deteriorated support post that had completely separated from its concrete footing. Despite these findings, the main support beams remained in good condition and could be retained, allowing us to streamline the renovation timeline.
Once the structural repairs were complete, we turned our attention to the damaged staircases. Both sets of stairs, one originally constructed from brick and the other facing the backyard, showed signs of warping and decay. We fully replaced both to ensure safety, durability, and visual cohesion with the new deck design.
With all structural and subflooring components properly repaired, we moved into the final phase: installing the new pressure-treated decking, railings, and stair systems. The result is a beautifully restored outdoor space that enhances both the functionality and curb appeal of this 75-year-old home.
This project stands as another example of the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail that define every remodel by Double R A Construction.
