What is the best paying schedule for Home Improvements

Double R has been in business in the Westchester County, NY & Fairfield County, CT areas for over 60 years.  Along the way we have seen and learned alot of things from our competitors and our customers.

 

When paying for a home improvement project you should never pay the full price upfront.  A reputable contractor shouldn't ask you to.  Always discuss payment terms BEFORE signing the contract.

 

Double R's payment schedule is as follows:  Upon signing the contract we require a small deposit, unless there are custom materials such as windows, doors and specialty siding.  In that case, we require a 1/3 deposit.

 

Once the materials have been delivered to the jobsite and the work is begun we require a 1/3 payment.  When the work has progressed beyond the half way mark we request another 1/3 payment with the balance due when the work is completed.

 

The work on your home should always be ahead of the payment schedules.
