Paul had always appreciated the character of his Armonk home, but over time, the aging siding began to take away from its charm. Wanting to restore and elevate the home’s appearance, he turned to Double R A Construction to create an updated look that would emphasize the property’s architectural details. The project began with the removal of the old, worn siding, allowing the team to carefully inspect the sheathing beneath it. This step is essential, as the sheathing forms the protective layer beneath the exterior siding. By checking for moisture damage that could lead to wood rot or mold, the crew ensured the home was ready for a long-lasting upgrade.   Once the structure was confirmed to be sound, installation of the new exterior began. Paul chose James Hardie Cedar Mill Plank siding in a 7-inch exposure, finished in Monterey Taupe, a color that brings warmth while maintaining a sophisticated look. The durable fiber cement siding offers both beauty and long-term protection, making it a smart investment for the home.   To highlight the design, clean white trim was added around the windows and edges of the home, creating contrast and drawing attention to its architectural lines. Two custom overhangs, one above the garage and another above a side door, were also built to add depth and character. Together, these elements transformed the home’s exterior, giving Paul a refreshed and distinctive look that will last for years to come.
