Photo Album: Bronx, NY Exterior Deck Remodel & Installation

Double R A Construction has begun renovating an aging deck at a house in the Bronx, NY. During the initial phase, we removed all the flooring to assess the stability of the structure. Inspecting and replacing any part of the framework is crucial during a rebuild, as issues such as wood rot and insect infestations can significantly impact the long-term strength of the new deck. After removing the flooring, we discovered a large section of the frame that needed to be replaced before we could start laying down the new pressure-treated flooring. In addition to the rotted frame, we had to replace a support post that had completely deteriorated and separated from the concrete footing. Fortunately, the support beams were in reusable condition, which meant that the deck installation would take less time than our contractor had originally estimated. Our trusted deck experts then began working to replace the damaged steps. Not only was there evidence of wood rot, but the steps were also starting to warp. We replaced both staircases, one that was originally a brick staircase and the other facing the backyard. After assessing and repairing any sections of the underflooring, we proceeded to the final stages of the deck installation.
